We have a large collection of paintings by French artist Suzanne Bugin, including this three piece screen.
Suzanne Bugin trained at the Ecoles des Beaux-Artes in Paris.
Much of her work has sold in the U.S.
Suzanne spent many weekends painting at a chateau in Normandy belonging to our client, and these paintings were created during these sessions.
The large screen depicts a family boating near Giverny.
The woman in the forefront was an haute couture dress shop owner in the fashion district not far from Coco Chanel.
She was contracted by Chanel to do important embroidery work.
Her son became an executive of Holt Renfrew, and it is from this estate that we receive these works.
We have ten of these impressionistic paintings plus the three panel screen. If you would like to make an appointment to see the paintings, as well as some wonderful furnishings from the estate, including a pair of walnut library chairs and a Parisian Art Nouveau mirror, then please contact us.
